It all started in our kitchen ten years ago. After a decade of creating handmade chocolate pralines the hobby became a passion. Year-after-year the amount of days spent at chocolate making workshops and courses grew. With time, the passion became a profession and ZAX was born.
We opened our workshop in Komarno on the bank of the Danube and equipped it with the finest tools of the trade. This way we are able to bring the best of international chocolate making home.
Our split of responsibilities has always been set: Zsuzsa, our chocolatier creates our hand painted, award winning chocolate pralines, bars, dragees and spreads while Ferenc get them to those who crave them. The team work is consistent and stays in the family.
Our principle is that premium products can be made only from the finest ingredients. We travelled the world and curated the best producers to source our sweet ingredients. The cocoa beans come from South America and Africa, vanilla from Madagascar, hazelnuts from Piemonte, Italy while our almonds are grown in California and the Mediterranean.
Our pralines were awarded in multiple international competitions. The passion fruit praline received a silver medal on the Academy of Chocolate Awards in 2020 while our salted caramel and cherry ganache pralines both received a bronze at the International Chocolate Awards Eastern European finals in 2020
